A Backyard Wedding by Intimate Wedding Photographer: ME+HIM Photography

We seriously fall in love every couple we work with and we can honestly say that we’ve never had a single bride or groom that was difficult to work with. But Nicole and Jochen are some of the special ones. The ones that make us want to plan a trip to Germany to visit them and sleep on their couch and drink their beer and cuddle their kitties. (As in: “Hi! ????‍♂️ It’s us! Betcha didn’t expect to see us!”)

It rained for 90 minutes, right when the ceremony was about to begin. So we waited. While w were sweating nervously waiting patiently and stoically, Nicole and Jochen were cool as cucumbers. When Nicole and Jochen got engaged they knew there was only one place for them to get married: Home, in the backyard. When it stopped raining we started the ceremony. When it started raining again as soon Nicole started down the aisle, she laughed, smiled and knew this was perfect because she was about to marry Jochen.

The home Nicole grew up is full of memories, the best kind, the kind of memories you can only make at home. When we stopped by the day before the wedding we got the full tour, we saw the towering tree that she planted with her Dad when she was a little girl, we saw the home that spoke volumes of family history and we saw a place filled with happy memories.

Their wedding was intimate and personal and everything we love to document. We thank them so much for letting us be one small part of their journey as husband and wife.
