An Industrial Art Gallery Wedding By Detroit, Michigan Wedding Photographers: ME+HIM Photography
This industrial art gallery wedding at Galleri 2987 in the warehouses of Detroit bleeds style. When we think about what makes weddings in Detroit unique you have to focus on what makes this city special. For us it’s the spaces that speak to its history, its industrial roots, its love of art and culture and its unyielding dedication to its values. Lizzie + Rob’s art gallery wedding on Detroit’s riverfront speak to our souls in an incredible way. Detroit, the city, the vibe, the feeling, is born into you here and their wedding is dripping with Detroit.
Their day began in the inseparably cool spaces of The Siren Hotel, which is built on the foundations of the old Wurlizter building. From their we explored the city, stopping by the Shinola Hotel and Cafe D’Mongo’s. But it ended and was culminated in the cool breeze of Detroit’s riverfront warehouses at Galleri 2987. This art gallery is the perfect space to host an intimate wedding. It is intimate enough to host the perfect amount of people and still large enough to have spaces for small groups to congregate. All surrounded by the work of local artists. It is easily one of the most unique industrial weddings venues in Detroit.
What made Lizzie + Rob’s wedding special was the way they infused it with their personalities. As avid readers one of the most important aspects of their nuptials was their wedding favors. They wanted to share their love of books with their guests and offered a book exchange. They filled a bookcase with their favorite books and asked guests to bring their favorite books and exchange with them. It was delightful. We left them with “The House Of Leaves” by Mark Z. Danielewski and “The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle” by Haruki Murakami.
